Today kicks off National Apprenticeship Week and we’ve broken down everything you need to know about the event!

What is the theme for National Apprenticeship Week?

The theme for National Apprenticeship Week this year is “Build the Future”. It aims to encourage more people to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals build the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career.

Why is it important?

With Covid-19 having such a serious impact on the UK economy and the job market, there is a serious belief that apprenticeships businesses to adapt and continue to build after a difficult year. Employers are being asked to look at ways they can train apprentices, retain current apprentices and realise the overall business benefits apprentices can have.

For those that are looking for work, apprenticeships should be looked at as a viable option. Not only is it a great opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’ but it also offers a serious route for career progression.

Breaking the stigma

Despite apprenticeships growing in popularity over the last few years, there’s still an overwhelming belief that you can only take one if you’re leaving school. This is not the case. Anyone aged 16 or older can take an apprenticeship, it really is never too late. They’re also a great opportunity if you’re looking to retrain or need to enhance your skills in order to progress from your current roles.

How can The AIM Group help?
